If I could give this office zero stars I gladly would. I took my 14 yr old daughter in for upper retainer impressions on August 22, 2017 since she misplaced her last pair. From the beginning I was confused as to why the doctor was pushy about using Nitrous oxide. I expressed my discomfort about using it for a simple impression procedure. The doctor's reasoning was that my daughter was gagging too much causing the impressions to be "no good". I found it odd due to the following... My daughter has gone through 4 upper retainer impressions in the past due to her losing the retainer (none-office-bad-review-related). 1 out of those 4 impressions taken was done at this particular office location with the same doctor. Making the 8/22 visit her fifth retainer impression since her braces came off. On the last visit (#4) they made her step mom come back twice for the impressions claiming it was my daughter's gagging causing them to be unusable. On this visit (#5) a nice older 25+ years experienced assistant took the impressions and agreed with my concerns. The doctor was pushy about it, and I reluctantly agreed. Let me note that this office and particular doctor is the only one I have ever encountered to be so inadequate with taking proper impressions, and making the above claims about my daughter. None of the first three impressions taken at her old orthodontist were ever a hassle. Mind you... my daughter has had cavities filled, crowding, overbite treatment done. We all know how intimidating, painful, discomfort the braces process, the drilling for fillings, the back x-rays, and much more can all be for a kid. Not once had I being recommended to give her laughing gas, or told her impressions were unusable before. I agree to the Nitrous oxide against my own gut feeling. I needed them to get the impressions right, but I knew deep down it wasn't because of my child. The assistant took the impressions while the doctor over saw the beginning, and ending of the simple procedure. She approved and praised the assistant for a well done job... just to be called a week later claiming that the impressions were unusable again. How? If you over saw and approved the work? My daughter's step mom took her in for a second time after my August 22 visit... the whole Nitrous oxide and claims were given. The office called one month later claiming the impressions needed to be taken again due to lost of contact with the lab. I called the office my self, to ask for my $150 initial payment refund since they couldn't get the impressions right. I get the run around, saying it was a miscommunication with my daughter's step mom. I was told over the phone that communication with the lab had being made, and my daughter's impressions were good and being process. Last week two months after the first initial impressions were taken I recieved a call that her retainer came in. I take my daughter in for a cleaning and a last fitting. I paid the second $150 payment of the $300 total prior to the cleaning, and the retainer fitting. Once the retainers are in my daughter immediately starts complaining about the retainers being really big causing the upper plastic part digging into her gums. The doctor was adjusting them, and convincing my daughter it was normal. She said for my daughter to wear them for 30 days and come back if they were still hurting. I was shocked to the retainers upclosed inside my daughter's mouth. It was apparent to the naked eye that the retainer was not her fit, and the wires were pressung on her front gums as the back plastic part digging on her back upper throat. I brought itimmediately asked to speak with the doctor. I was told that she was too busy, and if I wanted the retainers to be adjusted to my daughter's mouth I had to pay an extra $80 dollars. Not only are the $300 retainers faulty, but I'm being charge an extra $80. I was promised to get a call back to resolve the issue. It's being one week, no phone call back, no refund and no retainer. I have called this office every day asking for a resolution with a "may I put you on hold"?
